Carlie has her OWN blog!

So, Carlie is what, all of 3 years old? Yesterday she came up to me and said, "Mom, I need my OWN blog." From a 3 year old!!!! She then told me she has her own website, but she needs a blog too. They're not the same. How in the world does she know this stuff? So, we sat down and made her a blog. She told me what pictures to put in, and what to write. Next week I'll let her type it in herself. (joking - that'll be 2 weeks away! ;o) ) It turns out she really does have her own website. I thought she was just saying that, but her dad helped her create it last week. So, if any of you would like to see what the world is like through the eyes of a three year old let me know and I'll send you an invite to Carlie's blog. (it's not open for anyone to read - for obvious reasons.) Just email me, or put a coment in the blog and I'll send you an invite. amy_connors@hotmail.com
Big Day at the Gym!
A little dark, but can you see them walking their moon rocks over to the next event?
Here Carlie is after class, looking good, and getting a drink all by herself!
Here Carlie is right before class, notice Earnest (the horse Papa Bob gave her) in her arm, he came to watch.Carlie has been going to gymnastics in the parent-tot class for a few months now. All the kids are younger than she is, but she wouldn't go to the preschool class because her parent-tot teacher looks like Cinderella, and she's really nice, and actually, the best teacher ever, to quote Carlie. But, we had a breakthrough! Well, sort of. The "Cinderella" teacher started teaching the preschool class on Monday mornings, and since I don't work until late that day it's perfect! We dicided to try a class. This is the first activity Carlie has ever done on her own. At first she was a little hesitant, but then she was all in. Oh boy, I think I need to worry about her! She was the little leader of the class, mind you she's new, and this class of 6 little kids has been going on for a few months without her. They all know each other, she's the new kid. You'd never have guessed by watching the class. She spoke right up, and was always first in line, except when she got lost in another class - she got sidetracked and followed the parent tot kids to the parachute and joined right in. "Cinderella" was calling her back for a good minute before she figured out she was in the wrong place. Other than that it was awesome! She loves her class, and she's pretty good too! We'll post more, and some of Alex's class later.
Carlie's Princess Call

Carlie got a very special phone call last night right before bedtime. The phone rang and it was none other than Sleeping Beauty! She just called to say goodnight. Carlie was so funny to listen to, most little kids I think would be listening in awe at the short message, but not Carlie. I'd hear Carlie say "but..." pause, "Princ..." pause, "do..." pause, "if...". She was trying to get a word in edgewise, and if you know Carlie, she's not used to being the one who is listening! It was great to see her little face light up and she was very excited. She asked me if tomorrow Jasmine would call her to say good morning.

Amish Friendship Bread
For those of you who have tried Amish Friendship Bread you can completely relate to this story. It is the best bread you'll ever taste to begin with. It's more like a cake bread. (a lot like pumpkin bread if you've had mine) My mom brought me this starter for it in a ziploc bag, and a page long instruction manual on how to make it. It takes 10 days to make a loaf, but it's well worth the wait.
Anyway, I'm a baker. Not a cook mind you, but a baker. In my mind they are completely different. I can bake any dessert. I can't cook much more than spaghetti. So, after reading these instructions, I set about making this bread, which I'd never even tasted yet, just heard about from my mom. We mushed for 10 days, then baked the loaves. They were gone in 2 days, I think. Maybe they didn't even make it that long. The reason they call it friendship bread is because from that one ziploc bag my mom gave me you get 4 more starters, and are supposed to give them to 3 friends, keep one for yourself and do it again.
I have 4 starter bags, so I'm thinking I'll keep them all and next time we'll have lots more bread - 8 loaves! Matt and Carlie will love that! (Alex isn't so fond of sweets, a genetic mutation I think) I make the next batch, and yes, we have 8 loaves, and everyone stares at the bread with big smiles..... until they see...... 16 ziploc bags of starter on the counter. What the heck will I do with all this? They didn't tell me I was breeding this stuff, my mom may as well brought me two random rabbits! So, I took 10 bags to work to pawn off on a few unsuspecting souls, but it was harder than I thought. These people at work KNEW about the breeding capabilities of the "friendship" bread. (ha! friendship my butt! I know better. They weren't friends, they were secretly making out on my counter when I turned my back) I finally managed to "give" it away, all of it. Whew! I returned to my office, only to find two of them back on my desk, with the instruction manuals to boot. Crap..... oh, I have neighbors, nice LDS neighbors, who bake! I go home and unload the rest and am left with three bags. Next week I'll have to make some new "freinds".
PS- Matt made a loaf and it turned out way better than mine. I'm handing him the friendship torch...
Just a few pictures from the last week
Carlie has the Camera!
Gotta have that morning coffee! Carlie's coffee cup. (mostly cream, but mmmmm good!)
See the stamps I got from gymnastics? I'm going to be in the big kid class next week! (maybe...)
Mom's having fun with me. We're just playing around with the camera.

Carlie loves taking pictures. She's pretty good too. Here are a few of her most recent pics, and one I took chasing her around the house.
