These are pictures taken in our fields behind the house. Maggie loves to run out there because we let her off her leash. There are rabbits and moles for her to chase, along with the occasional rattlesnake and Coyote. So far we haven't had any Coyote problems, but our neighbor has taken to bringing along a can of mace on his walks after one tried to attack his dog. His dog is a mix of St Bernard and Australian Sheppard. That's a pretty brave Coyote! Our neighbor ran at the Coyote throwing rocks, and it still took a few seconds for the Coyote to decide which way to go.

And Carlie wants to be......

Carlie LOVES Star Wars. Not the new movie, but the classics from 1977 on. She's seen them all. When I was 7 Star Wars made it's debut. I wanted to be Princess Leah when I grew up. I was princess Leah for Halloween in the second grade. (I'll have to try to find the picture to post.)
Carlie sees the movies in a much different way. Her hero is Yoda. For sure. She wants to be Yoda when she grows up. Be just like him. The fight seens are what hooked her. Yoda's little, she's little. Yoda can kick butt, she feels like she should be able to as well. Around our house when we play bad guys, we say "you'd better be careful, or I'll go all Yoda on you!"

This picture was taken right before we loaded up the car for the drive home to Denver. The kids were great the whole way. The drive ended up taking 8 hours, but that was with several bathroom breaks. I never heard a whine, or arguement from the kids. I'm impressed! I have to give most of the credit to Alex for keeping the peace and entertaining her little sister. (and watching the movies Carlie wanted to watch - mostly Star Wars!)

Matt and the kids went down to see Bob in Torrey this summer. Here are a few pictures of them at his place. They had a blast with all the animals!

20 Year Class Reunion!

Okay, so going to my 20 year reunion was a lot of fun. More than I even thought. It was good to see everyone and catch up. Before the reunion I was looking at the website they had set up for classmates to post about their lives. The more I read the more I was convinced I had some pretty amazing friends. Alex even commented that I was correct in my assesment that everyone is way more successful than I am. (thanks Alex!) After seeing everyone in person, I have to say, yes, most of my classmates are wildly successful, in shape and have a zillion kids! I don't know how they do it! But, they all inspired me to work harder, and be a better person. So, it was well worth it. I've come away renewed!

PS- I also need to thank Matt for being such a good sport at the reunion. He didn't know a single person, and he held his own!
