20 Year Class Reunion!

Okay, so going to my 20 year reunion was a lot of fun. More than I even thought. It was good to see everyone and catch up. Before the reunion I was looking at the website they had set up for classmates to post about their lives. The more I read the more I was convinced I had some pretty amazing friends. Alex even commented that I was correct in my assesment that everyone is way more successful than I am. (thanks Alex!) After seeing everyone in person, I have to say, yes, most of my classmates are wildly successful, in shape and have a zillion kids! I don't know how they do it! But, they all inspired me to work harder, and be a better person. So, it was well worth it. I've come away renewed!

PS- I also need to thank Matt for being such a good sport at the reunion. He didn't know a single person, and he held his own!

Super Carlie

Gram Gram is in town and we are all so excited, Carlie especially! After hanging out with the adults and her wonderful big sister all day doing grown up things, like going to the Parade of Homes, Carlie wanted to play one of her favorites, "super Carlie!". She loves her cape, and runs around yelling "Super Carlie to save the day!"

All figured out at 3....

Carlie asked me again this morning if we are real or pretend. I asked her what she thought. She said she thinks we are real. Then there was a long pause, and she said "sometimes I think we are pretend." I asked her why she thinks that, she said "because we are meat." Hmmmmm...... Could it be that she was trying to say in her own way that maybe the real us is the spirit, not the flesh? How cool would that be if you had that figured out at 3!

Alex's New Camera

Alex wanted to get her own digital camera the other day so mom took her to the store to pick one out that Alex could buy with her own money she got from Christmas. Upon returning form the store Alex was very excited to show me her new camera, I have to say she picked a pretty nice camera that does EVERYTHING. It is a HD video camera, takes still photos, has an MP3 player and you can record sounds on it as well.

Today we had to try it out to see how it work so here are some videos that we took on it today.

Be ever so thankful....

I often read a friend's blog from highschool. (Chris & Gale's family is so inspirational!) Anyway, I was reading it today and it directed me to another bolg, one of a family with 4 small girls who tragically lost the youngest (one year old) a few days ago to a drowning. As I was reading I felt so sorry for this family, I can't imagine the pain they must be feeling, and the what if's. Here's a link to their family's blog. http://www.adailyscoop.blogspot.com/

I have always tried to look at my girls and burn the images of them in my mind, to hold on to every last bit of their baby smell, the sounds of their small voices, the softness of their skin. I wonder if this is a mother thing, or maybe I'm just aware of how fleeting these days can be, and how quickly lives can change.

I'm not the wealthiest, most beautiful, or smartest person I know, but I really do feel I'm one of the happiest, luckiest people in the world. If I ask for nothing else of this life, I have felt the emotions I wanted to feel, experienced the love I wanted to feel, and saw the sights I wanted to see. Seeing my children is like seeing a piece of heaven! For that I will always be ever so grateful and thankful.
